How are deliveries sent to the UNT food pantry? How often?

When we get donations or food delivered it either comes on palates in a box truck or someone is using a vehicle to drop items off. This can vary from once a month to once a week typically.

What would you want to supply that the Food Pantry does not currently have, and why?

As we are donation based, we get new and different items all the time. Something I would love to see more consistently is food that is halal, vegan and vegetarian more often.

What are essential storage units for a Food Pantry? e.g. refrigeration, shelving

We have shelving, fridge, freezer, storage room with extra shelving, bins come in handy and set of drawers

What advice would you give us about delivering food to food insecure people?

If you are going to deliver food straight to people I would make sure you are allowing for food autonomy in their decision making. Such as allowing them to make selections ahead of time based on stock, rather then pre-preparing a bag for them. This can also cut down on food waste.

Do you have any contacts from the Tarrant Area Food Bank or Kroger that you could share as we continue our research?

I do not have a point of contact at this time that I can share. You can always contact their main office to see if they have a representative that can speak with you.
